WantedDesign is a platform dedicated to promoting design and fostering the local and international creative community throughout the year. Its two marquee events are held in New York during NYCxDESIGN.

Celebrating design education and and the young creatives

Though the May 2020 edition of WantedDesign Manhattan and Brooklyn have been cancelled, we still invite you to discover the 30 design schools which were going to be part of the events this year.

Design education is a key component of WantedDesign’s programming, from our Schools Exhibitions at WantedDesign Brooklyn to our Design Schools Workshop, as well as the Schools presenting students work at WantedDesign Manhattan.

In an era of complexity and uncertainty, the exploration of art, design, and architecture can help us better understand our past and present to create another perspective. As new generations are faced with constant reinvention we must embrace more imaginative, intuitive, and aware ways of working. Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture advocates for this — what if — approach at all levels. Through our multidisciplinary studies we look to move beyond academic silos, bridging the fields of art, technology, and business to forge something anew.

Auburn has intentionally crafted distinct Foundation studios for 1st and 2nd year students. While there is certainly some overlap in content (color, 2D composition, 3D form development), the projects are able to focus on discipline specific deliverables and learning outcomes.
