The third edition of WantedDesign, held this year in conjunction with the inaugural NYCxDESIGN week, was a true design celebration.

The three-day event attracted more than 9,000 attendees, representing an increase of 30 percent over 2012, and more than tripling in size and attendance since its inaugural year.

The exhibition’s opening night saw more than 3,000 members of the design industry, journalists, and other VIP guests come through the doors, converging to create a high-energy atmosphere and triumphing over the line snaking around the block.

The soul of WantedDesign was in full effect! Popular destinations this year included the Launch Pad program, a new feature, whose independent designers work provided superb vision and food for thought.

As in years past, WantedDesign featured a strong international presence, most notably this year from Latin America, with such exhibits as The Carrot Concept from El Salvador, hosted by Bernhardt Design.

In addition, there was a healthy representation of U.S. designers, artisans, and manufacturers. Design students from around the world converged for Design Schools Workshop.

To all who participated in the event—exhibitors, guests, visitors, supporters, and friends from the New York design community—a big thank you! Your passion, curiosity, and commitment are what make us “wanted!”

Our goal for the rest of the year and for the 2014 event is to continue facilitating design discovery, dialogue, and new creative collaboration. Here’s to inspiration!
