WantedDesign and Archtober

WantedDesign and Archtober

Design was in full swing last month in New York with Archtober, and we’re so happy to have co-hosted four incredible events as part of the program. We saw more than 1,000 attendees come to discover, discuss, and nurture ongoing design dialogue at these events, and we want to thank everyone who contributed.
Helping to animate one such evening were Design Within Reach President and CEO, John Edelman; DWR VP of Creative Michael Sainato; Sayigh+Duman principals Laith Sayigh and Koray Duman; and 2×4 Founding Partner/Creative Director Georgianna Stout, who all discussed the new DWR studio design concept with design journalist Julie Taraska. As part of the Tribeca Film Festival, we hosted the panel “Brooklyn Renaissance for All?” which took place at Tribeca Cinemas/ADFF and included Kelly Anderson, director of My Brooklyn, which showed as part of the film festival; Jan Vingerhoets, CEO of FLOS USA; Ilana Judah, Intl Assoc. AIA, OAQ, LEED AP BD+C director of sustainability at FXFOWLE; and moderator Laetitia Wolff, AIGA and executive director of DesigNYC. Along with Patrizia Moroso, Moroso’s creative director, and Spencer Bailey, editor of Surface magazine, we celebrated in a packed Moroso showroom the U.S. launch of Marc Thorpe’s new Blur Collection. And finally, ending our month-long Archtober festivities, was the opening of French lighting company BLACKBODY’s showroom in SoHo, co-hosted by Chantal Hamaide of Intramuros magazine. Thank you to all who attended the events, and if you missed anything, check the albums on Facebook.
